If you buy textbooks with a goal of selling them back at the end of the semester, it is important to keep the books in the best conditional possible. There should be little to no markings in the book and the binding should be in good condition to get the most money back.

A college bookstore will typically buy back textbooks several times throughout the year. Students typically have to wait in line for long periods of time to sell the book back, however, they get paid immediately for the textbook.
